The 5RIVERS Running Team was formed in 2007 and is a grassroots registered USA Track & Field running club. Our membership spans a broad range of abilities from recreational runners to competitive veteran runners.

The name 5RIVERS relates to the five waterways in the greater Dayton and Montgomery County area (Great Miami River, Stillwater River, Mad River, Twin Creek, and Wolf Creek).

Coach Dale Fox had a successful Masters’ and Grandmasters’ racing career at distances from 1500-meters to the marathon. Fox trained with the legendary 1964 5000M Olympic Gold Medal Champion Bob Schul from 1985 to 2002 as a member of the Bob Schul Racing Team (BSRT).

In 2002 Fox retired from competitive racing and relocated to Pensacola, Florida where he began his coaching career. In 2002 he formed and coached the Emerald Coast Racing Team (ECRT). In 2006 he returned to Ohio and formed the 5RIVERS Running Team which he continues to coach to date.

Coach Fox was inducted into the Dayton Distance Running Hall of Fame in 2011.
